Login Instructions for AlcoholEdu
Dear Member of the Class of 2013,
We are looking forward to your arrival on campus in just a few weeks!
This year, as part of our comprehensive alcohol abuse prevention program, the University of Missouri is asking each member of the first-year class to complete AlcoholEdu for College before arriving on campus. This online, science-based course is used on over 500 campuses nationwide and provides information about alcohol and its effects on the body, brain, and behavior. Whether you drink or not, AlcoholEdu for College will encourage you to make informed decisions about alcohol and help you better cope with the drinking behavior of your peers.
The course has two sections, both of which are necessary to complete the course:
- Part 1 of the course takes 2-3 hours to complete. We recommend that you take it in multiple sittings. Part 1 ends after Survey 2 and the Exam. You must receive a grade of 75% or higher to receive credit for the course. The deadline for finishing Part 1 is August 18, 2009
- About 45 days after you complete Part 1, you will receive an email asking you to complete Part 2. The deadline to complete Part 2 is October 14, 2009.
***Students who complete Part 1 of AlcoholEdu by July 31, 2009 will be enrolled in a drawing for a $100 gift certificate to the University Bookstore!***
Please note that your responses to surveys in the course are anonymous and confidential; Mizzou will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will not see individual students’ answers.
To take AlcoholEdu for College, you will need a computer with Internet access and audio capabilities. If you do not have access to a computer at home, you may use any publicly available computer with Internet access (e.g., at a public library).
You can access the course online beginning on Tuesday, July 28, 2009. To begin:
- Go to: http://college.alcoholedu.com/login.asp
- Under New User, enter the following Login ID: 9C178396FIRSTYEAR
- Click “Sign Up”
- On the registration page, create your AlcoholEdu for College account using your email address and a password of your choice. NOTE: Write down the email address and password so you can remember them.
At this time, you will also need to enter your 8-digit Student ID. If you need to look up your Student ID number, go to: http://studenthealth.missouri.edu/AlcoholEdutshooting.htm
If you do not enter your official Student ID, you will not receive credit for taking the course.
- You may log in and out of the course at the end of each section. Section ends are marked with a “Next” button. DO NOT log out until you click the “Next” button or you will have to repeat the section you have just gone through.
- When you return, log in as a Returning User and enter the same email address and password you created when you first logged into the course.
Should you experience any difficulties or require support, the AlcoholEdu Online Technical Support Center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Simply click on the “Technical Help” button located in the upper right-hand corner of every AlcoholEdu for College screen. You do not need to be logged into the course to access the Technical Support Center.
