Student Health Center Mission Statement

The University of Missouri Student Health Center is committed to the delivery of high quality, affordable services and programs that promote student health, further the goals of higher education and reach under-represented minority groups. These efforts are inspired by the belief that healthy students are more successful in pursuing their own academic objectives, contributing to the scholarly activities of the University and are more prepared to assume responsibility for their future health decisions.

The mission can be outlined more specifically as follows:

  1. To provide comprehensive health care, including primary and referral services, for all students in a diverse population.
  2. To provide and help coordinate health education and health promotion activities on the University campus.
  3. To provide educational opportunities to Student Health Center staff and for students in medical and health-related professional schools.
  4. To educate students in becoming knowledgeable healthcare consumers.
