After Hours Nurse Service

     Any time the SHC is closed, students may call the SHC number, 882-7481, where a phone tree will give them the option to talk with a nurse. The nurse will help the student decide the severity of the medical condition, based on the description of symptoms.

     Options given to the student may include:
       - Calling 911 for emergency transport
       - Utilizing University Hospital's Urgent Care services
       - Utilizing health advise given by the after hours nurse until SHC re-opens

     There is no charge for using the After Hour Nurse Service; however, students are responsible for payment when utilizing services outside of SHC. The pre-paid health fee does not cover emergency or urgent care services.
