See the Changes

Gary Upton, DO, is a college-health expert. With 15 years experience at the Health Center, he knows and understands the health concerns of 18-25 year olds.

BIG changes are coming to the Health Center on July 1, 2017. We will be in network with most insurance companies, and will begin billing for medical office visits. By billing insurance and having the health fee, we are poised to serve students more conveniently and cost effectively.

Your health fee will continue to cover Behavioral Health for quick and easily accessible visits all semester long.

What does this mean for you?

  • Your insurance card will be your best friend. Bring it with you to every appointment - just to name a few, it's the starting point for:
    • co-pay information
    • how to get the best rate if we need to refer you to a specialist
    • where to send your bill for insurance payments
  • Insurance can help defer costs if you get sick. It also helps keep expenses down while you're in college.
  • Your pre-paid health fee, required when you take 7-credit hours or more, helps keep campus healthy and safe. It provides you the same behavioral health services, workshops, programs and classes to reduce stress and other health education resources and products.
  • You have the convenience of high-quality care with the same provider right on campus. This means you don't have to drive across town to someone who doesn't know you or college health as well as we do.
