Loving-Kindness Class
Fall 2016

The Loving-Kindness course is based on the work of Sharon Salzberg, author of Loving-Kindness: The Revolutionary Art of Happiness. Students explore four areas: loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy and equanimity. This is a discussion-based seminar that includes a variety of meditation practices.

Recent research by Dr. Barbara Fredrickson, show many benefits to practicing loving-kindness meditation. See article on her website: “Open Hearts Build Lives: Positive Emotions, Induced Through Loving-Kindness Meditation, Build Consequential Personal Resources.” (2008)
