Peace of Mind is a 6-week therapy group for students who want to increase life skills and ability to cope with difficult emotions, stress, and conflict as well as improve relationships and daily functioning.

Fall 2016 Groups
Session 1
Fridays 9-11 am
Sept. 9 to Oct. 14

Session 2
Mondays 10 am-Noon
Oct. 17 to Nov. 28 (excluding Thanksgiving Break)

Through this group, you can learn how to live in the moment, manage your emotions, increase interpersonal skillfulness, and identify what is really important in your life. Each class provides an informational overview, handouts, homework/practice exercises and a guided meditation.

MINDFULNESS
Learn to increase awareness and decrease impulsive or moody behaviors.Learn to increase awareness and decrease impulsive or body behaviors. Learn how to focus your attention to increase awareness and decrease emotional and psychological suffering.

INTERPERSONAL
Learn to cope with conflict, ask for what you need or want and say “no.” Learn to more effectively balance your needs with the needs and expectations of others.

EMOTIONAL WISDOM
Learn to understand emotions and improve skills for coping with feelings. Learn to decrease vulnerability to overwhelming emotions and strengthen calming and uplifting emotions.

STRESS TOLERANCE
Learn relaxation skills and effective behaviors to handle stress or a crisis. Learn breathing techniques, self-soothing skills, and tips for surviving the semester.
