Stand up to stress titlePeace of Mind title

 

Peace of Mind is a weekly educational workshop for students who want to increase life skills and ability to cope with difficult emotions, stress, and conflict, and improve relationships and daily functioning.

Through the workshops, you can learn how to live in the moment, manage your emotions, increase interpersonal skillfulness, and identify what is really important in your life. Each workshop provides an informational overview, handouts, and relaxation exercises.


 


 

MINDFULNESS

  • Learn to increase awareness and decrease impulsive or moody behaviors.
  • Learn how to focus your attention to increase awareness and decrease emotional and psychological suffering.

 

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

  • Learn to cope with conflict, ask for what you need or want and say “no.”
  • Learn to more effectively balance your needs with the needs and expectations of others.

 

EMOTIONAL WISDOM

  • Learn to understand emotions and improve skills for coping with feelings.
  • Learn to decrease vulnerability to overwhelming emotions and strengthen calming and uplifting emotions.

 

STRESS TOLERANCE

  • Learn relaxation skills and effective behaviors to handle stress or a crisis.
  • Learn breathing techniques, self-soothing skills, and tips for surviving the semester.
